NGO's

SOLESAVERS :EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES

BEYOND GOVERNMENT STEPS:

NGO (NON  GOVERNMENTAL  ORGANISATION)

NGO's are non profitable organisation. They work for the issues which address the problems of the public. They are the ones without which the government cannot function as the they perform majority duties of the government. They are very crucial for
every country. NGO's are the ones which actually solve most of the problems of the public. For example: 1) Save the children-they focus on improving the lives of children through  education, healthcare and protection.
2). Rainforest foundation - supports and helps indigenous tribes to protect their houses, culture and the rainforests.

NGO'S IN INDIA

We cannot imagine India  without NGO's as they contribute so much to  the improvement of the society and country. At present the number of NGO's registered in the country are approximately   1.87 LAKH. They are present in different fields like education, environment, wildlife protection, child rights, empowerment of women, healthcare  and many more.
Here are examples of NGO's making  a difference in various issues in India:
  • KALINGA INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES (KISS):This is institute was started in the year 1993 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It was started as a  tribal residential school by Achyuta Samanta. KISS is the first university in the world which is exclusively for tribal students, welfare and studies. It is fully free and hostel facilities are provided for them for free. They are provided with three meals  every day which is very nutritious and the quality is checked very strictly. This institution has attracted a lot of  tribal students  from nearby villages to study and prosper. Most of the students are from below poverty line and have a opportunity to break the  vicious cycle of poverty. Presently KISS has about 37,000 students who are from different  villages across the state which has helped  to change the mindset of the tribal people to improve their life's. Many indigenous tribes are also present here and they are given vocational training so that they could live independently.  Apart from studies students are also encouraged to take up various sports  and also  they have  different diets  accordingly. One such example is :  RANJIT NAIK was selected in archery  for the Olympic selection camp for the Tokyo Olympics 2021.
  • Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences Logo
There is You Tube video about this organisation by National geography India titled as Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences(KISS)-India's mega kitchens.

  • PFA WILDLIFE RESCUE, HOSPITAL AND CONSERVATION CENTRE: This organisation has  many centres across  Karnataka. They rescue and conserve  urban wildlife animals and birds which have been injured. They treat   them , take care and rehabilitate and releasing them back into their  natural habitat. They work with the Karnataka forest department to conserve the animals and birds. It was founded in 1996  by Namrata Dugar ,Alpana Bhartia Arushi Poddar, Gaur Maini Hira under the nationwide initiative and vision of Mrs Maneka Gandhi. They have helpline numbers  which  respond very quickly and the animals will be rescued .There is a You tube channel called PFA wildlife rescue and conservation centre  in which they post videos about the rescued animals and birds and also the rehabilitation process of the injured ones.

  • AKSHAYA PATRA FOUNDATION: It is a non profit  trust of (ISKCON) located in Bengaluru Karnataka. This organisation provides a  Mid Day Meal scheme(a school  lunch program) in India. This mid day meals school programs attracted a lot of students to come to school. As most of the  students come from below poverty line families. This food  acts as a incentive for the students to come to school. The quality of the food is checked before they are sent to schools by officials.

MY opinion about NGO's

They  play a very important role in the society and betterment for  future generations. I  would like the government to not only give them awards but  also give them proper financial assistance and fasten the procedure of getting permissions. Government should cooperate with them and give them support. NGO's are required as the government does not do  the work properly and the rest of the work would be done by them. I cannot imagine the world without NGO's as the world would crumble without them. So, I am very  grateful for them and would also like to contribute to them.
